China’s Ambassador to Syria Qi Qianjin discussed on Wednesday with the Palestinian Ambassador Anwar Abdul-Hadi the latest developments in the region and the crisis in Syria.
During a meeting held at the Chinese Embassy in Damascus, the two sides expressed their satisfaction with the outcomes of Syrian National Dialogue Congress that was held in Sochi, stressing the necessity of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and its right to defend itself.
Abdul-Hadi briefed the Chinese Ambassador on the latest developments on the Palestinian arena and the repercussions of U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of the Israeli occupation entity, affirming China’s key role in the peace process.
For his part, Qianjin said that the results of president Trump’s move are dangerous for everyone, adding that the Chinese stance obviously rejects as it also warns against the serious consequences of it. The Chinese stance opposes the US policies in the region, which tempt to interfere in the internal affairs of countries and support terrorism.
