The Budget and Accounts Committee at the People’s Assembly discussed on Tuesday the 2018 investment budget of the Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry that was set at SYP 26.209 billion.
In his answers to the Committee members’ inquires, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem said that the Ministry has worked to enhance oil products supply and meet the daily needs of them whether through the Iranian credit line, purchasing, or signing long-term contracts.
The Minister stressed that the Ministry will rehabilitate the damaged infrastructures for the majority of the oil facilities in the coming year, indicating that it has carried out the emergency plan in areas which the Syrian Arab Army has established control over.
He referred to the importance of implementing the clever card project and expanding it in various provinces.
Later on the day, the Committee discussed the investment budget of the Industry Ministry that was set at SYP 16.4 billion.
Industry Minister Ahmad al-Hamo expected that the percentage of implementing the investment plan for the Ministry projects will reach 67 % by the end of this year.
